I either need to buy an enclosure to put it into just long enough to access my data. Or... is there another way I can get access to the information on the hard drive without putting it into an enclosure?

go to ebay type in external hard drive – you will see the hard drive case – you will also see a little thingy that plugs into an ide and sata – you should not have to pay much more than $12.00 – i have one for ide and am pretty sure they come for sata – it is about 3 inches by one inch – very, very clunky but if you need to get something off a hard drive and you don’t want to have to slave it and open your case – by tilting it i got data off a dead drive that started spinning
